Turkish Airlines has changed the rules of exchange and refund of air tickets
According to the updated rules, travelers over 6 years old will be allowed on the plane only if they have a PCR test. By the time of arrival in Turkey, the validity of the certificate should not exceed 72 hours.
The presence of the certificate will be checked by the airline employees before departure. If a passenger is denied a flight due to the absence of a medical document (or its invalidity), then an alternative will be offered – a return or exchange service.
The passenger has the right to change the departure date until March 20, 2021, provided that the route is kept or changed to the same IATA region.
Another alternative is to receive a voucher multiple of 115% of the ticket price. The voucher can be used for new bookings at Turkish Airlines offices. The passenger receives a new voucher equal to the amount of the difference at a lower price of a new ticket from the value of the voucher.
The third option is to cancel the flight and convert the ticket into miles at a rate of 1 € = 100 miles supported by the Miles & Smiles loyalty program. Miles can be used to upgrade the class of service or to issue tickets.
Benefits for exchange and return apply to passengers who test positive for COVID-19 and contact persons. These travelers do not need to travel to the airport. To return a ticket or reissue it, you need to contact the airline directly.
