8 conditions for full opening of borders named

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has developed an 8-step program that will open borders and resume full-fledged international air traffic.

These steps include implementing certain measures in the air and on the ground that will reduce the spread of the coronavirus. This program requires the connection of airports, airlines and authorities.

On earth, rapid testing for COVID-19 will be required. Also, the passage of registration, passport control and boarding should preferably occur contactlessly. Cleaning in terminals and planes should be more thorough, and the distance between passengers should be greater.

During the flight, passengers must wear masks and restrict their movements in the cabin. It was also proposed to simplify the service on board to minimize the interaction of passengers with the crew.

The International Air Transport Associations have advocated for the early lifting of travel restrictions, as this resulted in airline losses of $ 118 billion in 2020. IATA also calculated that airlines will continue to lose $ 7 billion every month in the new year, if nothing changes.

IATA has urged the authorities to partially eliminate taxes on aviation, fund flights to small cities, and financially support airlines that wish to resume flights at low loads.

Let us also remind that the Ministry of Health of Ukraine published the first list of countries in the “green” and “red” zones in 2021.
