Wizz Air changes terms of free online check-in

The Hungarian low-cost airline introduces new check-in rules for flights – not the most pleasant for those who are used to checking in for flights in both directions at once.

Recently, there has been some great news from Wizz Air: first, the low-cost airline made discounts for those who managed to buy tickets for Ryanair flights from Ukraine, then announced an increase in the size of free hand luggage.

But let’s not relax: Wizz Air has announced that it will cut free online check-in times.

Previously, it was possible to check-in online for Wizz Air flights from 30 days to 3 hours before the flight, according to the new rules, online check-in can be done 48 to 3 hours before the flight.

The maximum time for which an online check-in can be completed is 2 days. Previously, before traveling, you could immediately check in for outbound flights and print boarding passes, but now, in some cases, you will have to look abroad for opportunities to print your boarding pass so as not to pay for check-in at the airport.

The new rules apply to all bookings made after August 15th, except for those where an additional seat was paid at the time of booking.

If after August 15 you bought round-trip tickets with a travel duration of no more than 15 days, then you can immediately check-in for the return flight, but only after the check-in for the first flight is open. If the travel period is more than 15 days, then check-in for the return flight will be open after check-in for the departing flight, but not earlier than 15 days before departure.
