Tanzania tightens entry rules
“Based on the global epidemiological situation and the emergence of new strains of viruses that cause Covid-19, there is an increased risk of importation into our country, therefore Tanzania decided to strengthen existing preventive measures, especially with regard to international travel.”, – said the head of state.
Now all travelers, both foreigners and Tanzanians, must submit a negative PCR test at border crossings, done no earlier than 72 hours prior to arrival. Those arriving from countries with a high prevalence of coronavirus, according to the WHO rating, must undergo express testing on arrival for $ 25. Guests from countries where the prevalence of new strains of coronavirus is high, in addition to the test, will have to self-isolate for 14 days.
The Health Ministry said in a statement that while in the country, visitors will be required to follow preventive measures such as wearing masks, disinfecting and social distancing.
